Katrina Relief

Katrina. What can we say? How can we wrap our heads around something so horrific? How can one storm wipe out your whole life? How could something like this happen? I have relatives in Louisiana - luckily they are far enough inland that they are fine. I have an old friend in Alabama - she too is okay. In mid-July we were on vacation in New Orleans. It was our first visit there and we loved it. I worry about the places we saw. I worry about the carriage tour driver and the mule who showed us the sights. I worry about the wonderful lady at the hotel front-desk who upgraded us to a suite and sent us a bottle of wine, just because she found out our first anniversary was a few weeks before. What has happened to them? Are they okay?

I am so proud of all the fund-raising efforts I am seeing in the blog community. It makes me proud that I can also call myself a blogger. Please, do what you can to help. Any amount you can give, however big or small, there is someone out there who needs it more than you do.
