Tired of the R word???

Fear not, I don't have much to say about Rhinebeck. After all, you've read so much already that there isn't anything new I can tell you. The day was beautiful and the yarn was even more gorgeous. Unfortunately, I only ran into one person I knew. I missed the blogger meet-up . . . or actually, I kind of skipped it because I was feeling overwhelmed. I later realized the feeling probably stemmed from a low blood-sugar . . . which stuck with me most of the day, even though I kept eating to bring it up. In the end, an apple crisp did the trick - and I was pleased to get to eat it guild free!

I had a good chunk of cash to spend, since I had been hording my Christmas and Birthday money all year. I spent more than half within the first 30 minutes. I'll be revealing my purchases over the next few posts. Today's feature is one of the (three) skeins of Socks that Rock that followed me home. (I really don't know how this happened. I wasn't going to buy any sock yarn this year. I think it's a sickness, really.)

It's called Garnet Dreams and the colors are so pretty, I just couldn't resist. In fact, I cast on Sunday morning and I'm already past the heel on the Ampersand Socks.

Sorry for the dim picture, it's very gray here today. Which is a shame, because the pattern is fabulous with the yarn. And the socks are knitting up so fast, it's really exciting. Well, exciting to me. Charlie feels differently.

If it's not edible, it doesn't excite him at all.

Yummmmmmy. I've been acquiring a good amount of STR lately and got one recently that looks a lot like that called Hard Rock. LOVE the socks. Love the kitty too. He looks so content. :)

He looks so at home it's not even funny. And, of course, the STR is just drool-worthy. :)

Yummy apple crisp, and guilt free no less. What a pretty colorway of STR. Charlie's probably excited. He just keeps it inside.

Ohhhh, pretty yarn!

I find a good apple crisp is approriate for many things - who knew it could help with low blood sugar too.

I was sorry to have missed you on Saturday. We went to the blogger meetup but felt a little overwhelmed too so we didn't stay very long.

Love the sock yarn! Can't wait to hear about what else you picked up.

Sorry you weren't feeling so well, but the sock yarn looks beautiful! Then again, you can never go wrong with STR!

I'm looking forward to seeing everything you purchased.

The STR yarn is beautiful! I have never knit with it before. I may have to rectify that in the near future.

Sock yarn sneaks into our hands, and somehow doesn't get put down again...
Love the socks!
Hugs to Charlie.

Well, since you're already knitting a sock with it, I think that purchase is totally justified! I may be the only one who hasn't read tons about Rhinebeck, but that's because I've been neglecting my blogreading. Glad to hear you got some great yarn!

Well you have more to say about Rheinbeck than I do, I'm just jealous that you got to go. I'm hoping to get to go next year! I do love the yarn though. I would have been all over that!

Just stopped by to let you know that the Soaring Eagles Project is back up and running for year two. We still have enough hats from last year, but this year we are doing mittens and slippers/socks. If you can't knit this year, could you spread the word? ((HUGS))
