Yup,that's my new motto these days. My basket of WIPs is out of control, and it's starting to get to me. So, here and now, I am declaring that I will fight the urge to cast on with all my might. I will finish up those languishing WIPs. And I will frog anything that just isn't working.
First up in the finished pile is a little mouse I whipped up for Charlie on Saturday. I picked up cat-nip at the grocery store this morning to add to the stuffing.

And looks, he loves it!!!
Okay, honestly, he could care less about it . . . I totally posed him. Oh well, at least I had fun making it.

That sounds like a good plan to me. I should do that too my wips are a little crazy especially socks.
Love the catnip mouse!
That's inspiring. I need some sort of intervention, myself.
Oh, Charlie, couldn't you at least feign excitement?
Oh, I'm sure he loves it...he just keeps it all on the inside. :-)
So So Cute. Almost makes me want to have a cat ... almost.
Maybe he's just getting used to it. Cats are fickle. He probably plays with it while you're sleeping ;-)
When you're not looking-- he does the happpy cat nip dance!
Even if it's just a posed picture he looks adorable!
Good plan. And he doesn't have to play with the mouse. He just gets to know you love him and that's what matters most. :)

I hear ya sister. I started on this road a few months ago - frogged one thing and finished a few more. Still have a ways to go though!
That mouse is adorable;0) I think Charlie secretly loves it but doesn't want to let you know . . . cas can be like that you know!!! xo
I love the 3F Friday concept. I saw someone make a comment on the Knitting Daily post and decided to adopt it myself. Congrats on your determination. Love the mouse too, even if Charlie doesn't (yet). He might warm up eventually!
What a great kittymama you are. making him a toy! Do you know some cats do not have a catnip gene so it doesnt effect them at all. He's alucky boy.
I am trying to resist the urge to cast on things that arent in my list of things to do (and no..I havent listed anywhere near as many of them that I have on my ravelry)..MUST FINISH UFOs....
Katt
Cute mousey!! I'm gonna frog a sock leg and cuff..don't like the pattern anymore!
That Charlie looks so much like our family Charlie, it's killing me! That pose is one that we call 'loaf mode', where the cat looks like a loaf of bread;)
What a good motto... I;m not sure I could do it though, more power to you! Love the little mouse, too cute!
Oh, I love that socks that rock yarn... yummy!
I love the mouse! Charlie is so sweet. I just want to scritch his chin. Cat psychology must be employed when presenting gifts to our feline friends. The toy can be left near him or in a place he will find it. Then he "chooses" to play with it and it's his idea. Cats are rather sensitive about being in control. I'll bet on the inside Charlie is saying, "Oh boy, oh boy! Nobody's ever made me a handknitted mousy before!" okay, so that might be a stretch, but he is lucky to have you caring for him.
Hahah. Look, that is how a cat shows that he loves the mouse. He totally let you take a picture of him with it. Hahah.
I am sure that he will do what most cats do (play with it when you are not looking and lose it under the fridge). It is a wonderful little mousie.
LOL ;) I can sure tell you a lot about a cat's ignorance towards things you're making or buying for them ;) But one day, Charlie will find that cutie mouse again, sooner or later he definitely will - and then he's going to love it big time ;)
Thanks for the link to the mouse! I love it! My sweetie went to sleep {permenantly} after many, many years with us, so I will knit for the next "pound kitty".
