Good things come in Threes

Last week, the Sock-a-Month KAL started it's third round. This time, I am fortunate enough to be one of the three hostesses, as well as a sock-alonger. Some great socks are already on, and in some cases OFF the needles. Why not join us, it's not too late!!

As it turns out, I've got three pairs of socks on the needles right now! The first pair is likely to take me three months to complete. That is the beginnings of my Rock the Stars sock. The yarn and pattern were the December Indie Swag, and they are gorgeous. The only problem is that the socks are knit on size 0 needles. SIZE ZERO! Have you ever tried to knit on these wisps of metal? The smallest needles I've ever knit on before had been size 2, so the zeros are a definite challenge. But you know what? I'm doing it! These may take me forever to complete, but the beautiful yarn and pattern are worth it.

Socks in progress number two are my Christmas Socks. The first is done, and the second is just past the toe.In case you've forgotten, the yarn is the new Step, with aloe and jojoba. It's very soft to knit with, and I really like the colorway Pea chose for me. I'm hoping I'll be able to get my stripes to match up on the second pair.

As for the third pair of socks, I'm afraid this is about all I can show you. These are a secret test knit of a great new pattern. I'm loving the Lorna's Laces that I chose for these socks. I'm using the Sport weight, so it's fast to knit and feels so smooth and silky. I'll be sure to show you more and tell you all about it once I can.

If you chose a few more socks, you could have a sock for every day of the week! I love lorna's laces, and your rock socks ROCK! I think that new Step sock looks terrific! Okay, I am off to knit my socks, which aren't nearly as interesting as yours! xoxo

omg, size 0's are like, the bane of my sock-knitting existence...!!! no joke. i've had a pair on the needles, two at a time at the same time, for well over three months now. i'm just getting to the heel shaping because knitting those puppies up (in stockinette, even) was like knitting into a black hole; an hour goes by and it seems like i get nary an inch! i can only stand that kind of frustration in small doses. i prefer size 2's - maybe even size 1's for the right kind of yarn (STR lightweight, baby!) - but 0's?!?! they make toothpicks seem hefty by comparison! perhaps when i knit faster, they won't seem so trifle.

That's a whole lotta socks! And your Step is exactly the same color I used for a design recently - isn't it nice? Although mine turned out to be fraternal twins (good luck with that stripe matching - I've heard that it's possible with this yarn).

Great socks you got going on there!! I have a pattern for some wrist thingys that you knit on 0's....one day I will do it. Those zero socks will be so worth it even if they take you a little longer!!!!!

Your feet will be quite toasty! The Step yarn is on my list, though I thought gloves would be nice, with the aloe and everything.

Let us know how the socks feel once there on.

Hmm, where was it the other day, maybe the Craft blog, where I saw little tiny shoes knit on PINS, with SEWING THREAD for yarn. Yes, yes it was on the Craft blog. Oh, sweet Jesus.

Only three pairs? C'mon girl - keep up with the real nutzos! It's a good thing we don't have three feet - it would take us three times as long and we'd have third sock syndrome, which I bet is a lot worse than second sock syndrome.

You don't mess around when it comes to sock yarn do you? You go straight for the good stuff!

3 socks at one time? WOW! I consider myself semi-difficult to impress when it comes to socks, but girlfriend .. you are impressing the hell out of me. AND to top it off you're knitting on 0's? WOW! Most of the stuff I knit is on size 1's & they seem to take for-ev-eh, so I'll be here cheering you on with your size 0 socks!

What do you mean secret socks? Blog friends don't have secrets. Do they?

I really should join that KAL, but then (knowing me and my resistance) I'd stop knitting socks...........

Pretty WIPs! And go ahead, you have twisted my arm. Please count me in as a late joiner. It will help motivate me to get those promised pairs for my 2 guy-friends and my niece! :)

Great socks! I find the 0's a bit tiny too. However, it does make for a denser fabric thus longer wearing socks.

Great socks, all of them. I especially like the greens and berry colours in the top pair. Size 0?!! I'm trying to find sock yarns meant for larger needles as my hands are willing but the eyes… not so much. Thanks for recommending 'Kintty D" I listened this morning and enjoyd it. Sticks 'N String is still my fave.

I have that same step yarn! Now I really cannot wait to use it!!! You sure have been a busy knitter! Go KAREN GO! Wow! You are awesome! Love the headband too (yes, I could still see it through the blur). Heh heh. I am glad to be back to a little blogging. The little monster boys are in bed. I am ignoring the noises I hear up there for some relaxation. :)
