How to ruin a perfectly good knitting day . . . .

in just three quick seconds.

It doesn't matter that the day is too cloudy and rainy to justify going out to do anything.  It doesn't matter that the house was cleaned from top to bottom on Wednesday so I'd be all set to give K.C. my attention after her surgery.  It doesn't even matter that I've got gorgeous Misti Alpaca yarn and the so-fun-it-should-be-illegal Monkey sock pattern going.

Oh no, in just three quick seconds you can shoot that all to hell by touching a pan that just came out of a 450° oven.

Okay, the burn doesn't show well in the picture, but trust me, it is there.  On my right thumb and pointer finger.  I can manage to knit a teeny bit, but it's painful and very slow going.  My advice?  Always remember to use oven-mitts when going anywhere near the oven!

There is some over the counter stuff called something like Calmoseptine or something like that that is a thick pinkish cream that is wonderful!

Yep ... and make sure the pot holder isn't wet! Ask me how I know THAT????

Hope you heal up quickly.

Ow! I hope it heals quickly. Karen must knit! I love your cakes! Cakes and martinis make for great birthdays.

Oh wow, that's way worse than the curse of multiple frogs. (it hasn't left my house yet, but I'm going to get that other pair of socks done this weekend by golly!) Hope you heal fast! The socks look nice so far.

Owieeeeeee!!!!! Oh I feel your pain. I did that too last year. I put a tray of cookies on the stove top and it was on right so I grabbed it with my hand to move it without putting the oven mitt back on!!! plus stupid me didn't want to drop the pan and lose the cookies so I held on longer then normal. Feel better. I find holding a pint of ice cream in said hand helps =)

Ouch! I hear you. I always feel the same way when I burn my hands. I just want to know "How long until I can knit again?"

I hope you feel better soon.

I hope you're healing quickly. Burns are no fun--especially when you can't knit!

I also wanted to let you know I have nominated you for an award on my blog. Hope you enjoy!

What a bummer!! I hope you heal up soon. I'm the queen of burns in my house.

Oh no that's awful, I hope it gets better soon! I know what you mean though, I played the guitar at church and ended up with blisters on my first and second fingers, and that definately put a dent in my knitting plans for the weekend :(

yikes!!! Heal quickly!

I slammed my hand in the screen door today and sobbed for a full five minutes while panicking that I wouldn't be able to spin ever again - while R laughed at me when he realized why I was crying so hard. (I'm fine...just a little on the dramatic side. *sigh*)

I remember actually putting salted butter on our burns as kids. OUCH! Here's hoping you heel fast! The jumpstart that it always gives my heart when I do it, is amazing!

YEOUCH!!!! I'm hoping that since it's been almost a week you are back to knitting. I've done that before and OH DOES IT HURT!!! And then you really wonder what happened to your common sense that made you not think to pull out an oven mitt......

OUCH! I did this the other day.

It hurts so bad, and keeeeps burning.
ACK!

Have you ever tried toothpaste? Yup. Toothpaste on a burn.

Hope it is much much much better now.
