Black and White

Yesterday Kathy did a post about her favorite things that are black and white.  What is my most favorite black and white in the world? Well, that's a no-brainer.

It's K.C., of course!!!  (And Kathy is her kitty godmother.)

Some of you may know about the problem we've been having with K.C.  Since the time we got her home, she seemed to be having some health issues.  After multiple tests, my theory of the problem was confirmed.  Although it is extremely rare, when she was spayed (at the Humane Society before we met her), a piece of tissue was left behind.  As a result, she is still going into heat every couple of weeks.  A cat in heat is no fun, I can tell you that!  She's like Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde-Kitty.

She needs exploratory surgery to find and remove the tissue.  It's on the schedule for a week from today.  I am more worried than I can describe.  My poor little kitty.  So, what's a good project that's easy and mindless enough to fill my time while her surgery is performed?

Aww, what a sweet kitty you have! I believe K.C. will be more than fine after the surgery! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for her.

Oh Karen I sorry to hear about that. Fingers crossed for you!

Oh goodness, every couple weeks now that's a nightmare for you and for you. I hope the surgery goes well! Silk Kerchief (free pattern) is very mindless and may suit the bill. I did one with handspun but it's written for Noro Silk Garden or something like that.

Oh, poor kitty! Knit dishcloths, plain garter stitch dishcloths. Totally utilitarian, non- decorative, useful mind numbing project!
Fingers crossed for speedy resolution.

From the kitty godmother:

Sneak wine into waiting area in plastic ziplock bag. Snip corner from bag pouring wiine into "water cups" from dispenser. Knit a little blanket for a shelter kitty.
awwwwwww

St. Francis and I are all over this..

ditto the dishcloths or a shelter blanket (and the wine!) We'll all be thinking good thoughts for her.

She is such a sweet kitty! I know her surgery will go well and then she'll just have one personality.

KC is lucky to have such a great mommy. She'll be wonderful and fine. Hugs to you for now, and try not to worry too much. Do you spin? Either that or some stockingnet stitch socks are great for relaxing.

I just started Shawl that Jazz and so far it's just row after row after row of garter and no wrap short rows.

She'd be my favorite black & white thing too! I'm sure she'll be just fine -- and it'll be a relief for all three of you when done.

My knitting suggestion is for something with an easy pattern. Not too plain, but not too complicated.

Maybe you can knit her a felted kitty bed to lay in when she comes home. :)

I've never heard of this before!!! I'm sure she'll be fine, but I agree, I'd me a mess too if they had to go back in.

She is going to be so much better very soon! In the meantime, some catnip mice toys might be the perfect thing. Or a new blankie. :)
