Book swap anyone?

I agreed to participate in a cool book thing - part swap, part chain letter (but not in a scary way). And I'm looking for more people who want to participate too. It's easy, inexpensive, and sounds like a lot of fun.

Here's how it works. Email your snail-mail address to me, and I will send you a copy of the letter above and six address labels with my address. You simply send a paperback book that you've read and enjoyed to the address on the back of the letter. Then, make six copies of the letter and put one of my address labels on the back of each one. Send them, along with six of your own address labels, to six friends. If everyone plays, you should get 36 books in the mail!!

Who's game?? Email me!

36 books in the mail? Holy cow. I'm having trouble enough keeping up with the last couple I purchased. They're languishing because I've given up reading for spinning.

How about I just send you a book I liked? Have you read The Time Travelers Wife?

Intriguing...I like the idea of getting a bunch of random books in the mail (and sharing books I liked).

But...control freak in me says What if I've already read the books? What if I get 36 copies of Anna Karenina (hard to imagine, but I did really, really dislike it)?

Hmmm...I'll embrace serendipity. I just need to recruit six others!

I always cringe when I get chain letter things - recipes, dish towels, etc. But, books sounds great! And I know 6 readers who would probably love this, too. I'm in!

Oooh this does sound like fun! Unfortunately I am one of those freaks that don't keep books. I donate them to friends and our library at work. Mostly though, I get them from the library.

Good luck with this though - I'm excited to see what happens!

I might be in. How many books would I be sending out? Is there any guideline -- fiction, mystery, nonfiction?

I am not sure if you have my email in your address book, but a few of my emails to you were returned. I just didn't want you to think I wasn't responding. :)
