WIP of the Week - Diversion

I am not a head wrap kind of person. I don't wear anything in my hair. I love head wraps on other people, but I know I look stupid in one myself. They just don't suit me. So why, after reading Scout's blog yesterday, did I start knitting this??It isn't even on my May Knit List. But it's pretty. And I started thinking about how I could use something to wear around the house. Something to keep the hair out of my eyes while I'm cleaning. Or knitting. Or cooking. Or sewing. Or gardening. See, plenty of uses, and no one but Pea has to see me in it!! Before I knew what was happening, I was digging in my Yarn Scraps Basket looking for some yarn. I pulled out the rest of a ball of Instant Gratification Sock Yarn and cast on. I'll just knit until I run out - and hopefully it will be long enough to reach around my head and tie.

So, that's my little diversion. Next week, hopefully I'll be ready to show you some progress on Tahoe.

Good diversion! Such a pretty stitch pattern. I'm sure it will look great on you. A ponytail is about as creative as I get.

What great use for left over yarns and love the interesting stitch pattern.

Hey, I've been wanting to try out that pattern for a while. It looks really pretty so far! I'll bet you'll end up finding it really useful. If it doesn't work as a wrap, maybe it would work as a scarf? :-)

That is a lovely headband! And you have a whole list of times when you can wear it. I personally liked the "while knitting" idea. It will keep the bangs and flyaways out of your face. Ah ha. That is great. :) I love the projects you make, I get some great ideas from you. I wish that I had more time right now...but summer is coming.

Oh, this is going to look so pretty - it already does, actually! And hey, I think it'll suit you perfectly - wearing headbands or anything like that may be a bit unusual to you at first if you've never worn something like that, but you'll quickly realize how very comfortable it is to have something to keep the hair out of your eyes - I know what I'm talking about ;))) And I'm just so sure that you'll look great with it!

I've been thinking about head wraps too ... maybe a crochet one. I have a lot of bad hair days. Yours looks too cute to wear only around Pea! :)

I tried the Dream Swatch a while ago, but just couldn't get the hang of it. Yours look fantastic!

I'm more of a ponytail kind of girl, but I'll be interested to see how yours looks on you. Only you could persuade me to knit it!

I really like the way the colors are working with the stitch pattern. The white in crossed portions really pops out. I think it will make a lovely head-scarf
