Rain, rain, go away . . . . .

because tomorrow is a Fiber Day!!!

That's right, it's raining again, but I'm hoping it clears up in time for the CT Sheep, Wool and Fiber Festival tomorrow. I can't believe it's already been a whole year since my first ever Fiber Fest. Anyone else have plans to go? Elizabeth and I are going to picnic in that same spot on the little hill. Please do join us!!

In looking over my post from last year, I'm sad to realize I haven't knit up any of the yarn I bought yet. What is a girl to do?? Well, why not share? Would you like to win one of these sets of sock yarn?

Just leave me a comment!! I can't decide which one I want to part with, so I'll just pick that randomly too. You have until Thursday at midnight, and I'll hold the drawing next Friday.

Another thing I realized about last years Sheep and Wool Fest is that it was the first time I ever met blog friends in real life. That's always fun, because you already feel so close to the wonderful people you meet through blogging. And speaking of those wonderful people, I wanted to mention Nancy. She's been a wonderful friend, and one of the first to sponsor me and to donate a prize to my Diabetes Walk-A-Thon. And now she's raising money for a MS Walk-A-Thon, which is a cause very near and dear to her. If you can, please go over and help her out. Let me know if you did, and I'll give you another entry into the sock yarn drawing!!

I love fiberfests! I always end up not knitting anything I pick up from them. I usually just want to keep it around and look at it.

The forecasts I've seen seem to imply that the showers are isolated. But it's very very vague. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! (i'm also due to spend the day at the brooklyn botanical gardens, so i'd like sunny skies too.)

Fiber fests scare me a little. Ah, wait, no, correction: I have only been to Stitches East before and that was during my induction years as a knitter and it scared the living bejeezers out of me. So much. There was SO much yarn and people and I took a class with Melissa Leapman and thought I was going to stab her with my knitting needle. I knit my first cable in that class. It's so strange to think how far I've come from being a lost teenager to succesfully knitting the Rogue hoodie.

Mom and I are planning to go to Stitches East again this year, but this time I'll be ready. Heck, I might even get something out of the class I take! ;)

Hi there! Should we work this the same as last year? I'll call your cell when I get there, and we'll see where we are. I'm planning to take my food stuff over to the meet up place at noon, and see what's going on.

I love to read the posts of all the knitters who have access to fiber fests. It makes me long for a return to the East Coast where I can expect more knitting camaraderie. I hope you have a good time tomorrow! Post lots of details of everything you get to see!

See you tomorrow! :o) Don't think we'll be picnicking but we'll stop by to say hi!

Have a *wonderful* time at the fiber fest. I'm so bummed I can't go... you know, those 3,000 miles can be a problem. Stay dry and don't forget to take a chair to sit on the hill. The ground may be a bit too damp!

By the way, thanks for mentioning Nancy's Walk-A-Thon. Even though she met her goal, I still donated because even a few dollars from each person helps.

Oh Karen! I hope you have a wonderful time at the festival - wish I could come too!

A contest for sock yarn? I'm in. I LOVE your watermelon Monkey socks. I've got to make that pattern soon. I first saw your blog when searching for tanks and found your beautiful Picovoli.

Have fun at the fiber fest. I've only been to my first last fall, as a new knitter I'm looking forward to many more!

I don't have a blog yet, but if I win you can e-mail me at buzzbomm@earthlink.net :)

Fiber Fest? Man, I wish they had something like that where I'm from, lol... Then again maybe they do :/. I really like the yarn you used on your monkey socks, very cute colors. About taking close up shots, mine usually turned out blurry too, until I realized I had a macro setting on my camera :) Anyway, I hope that you had a great time and found lots of fun stuff.

Have a wonderful time at the fiber fest, and I hope that the rain lets up for awhile (so that you can have a wonderful and dry time).

Hope the fiber festival was warm and delightful! I just renewed my MS society membership (I have that damned disease) and I can't afford to donate for Nancy right now, but I'm heading over to thank her for walking and raising money for a cause so near and dear to my heart (and health).

Sounds like fun! I haven't had the fiberfest experience yet, really hoping to remedy that this year though...

Hooray for fiber festivals. Maybe next year I'll head to my folks' and drag my mother and grandmother to Connecticut's. Maryland is good -- but it's a zoo.
