It happens every year.

Each December, I set out to find a small tree for our living room. As I search for my cute little tree, I try really hard to remember that the tree will look much bigger in my little house. I remember that a tree taller than me is really bigger than what I have in mind. And each year, I end up with a HUGE tree that barely fits in it's corner. This year was no exception.

The star is about 6 inches from the ceiling. Of course, I do love this tree, but next year I'm bringing a tape measure with me!!!

I had never had a live tree until the first year I was married. So, I knew nothing about picking out a tree. My husband kept telling me, it will look bigger at home, you know. But I didn't listen. We wound up with a tree that BARELY fit in the living room of our apartment. We actually called it "the beast". I'm much better at picking small trees now. ;-)

pshaw! that tree isn't too large for its space at all. besides, the bigger the tree, the more piney smell you get!

I think it fits perfectly and it's beautiful. Kevin and I cut a tree from the woods one year. Wow! A small tree in the woods in most definitely not a small tree in one's living room. We lived in an older house with fairly high ceilings and the tree had to BEND at the top. No tree topper that year!

It's not Christmas unless you have a story to tell about your tree!

LOL! I used to insist as a kid that the tree had to be taller than me. Well I'm almost 6 feet tall now and we have a small house so you can imagine what my parents ended up with at a certain point. Yours is very pretty!

What a lovely tree! I think this is just the perfect size for the corner. And maybe Santa Pea will fill the bottom of it with wonderful fibery gifts!

Your tree is lovely!! Isn't it strange when the tree seems to get bigger once inside your home!! Ours is the biggest one ever. We have nine foot ceilings and it almost hit the top. Tom had to cut off some so the Angel could fit!!

I think it's PERFECT! We didn't do a tree this year (sniff, sniff) because we're going out of town during the holidays & thought it would be a waste of money. BIG REGRET!!! I'll have to live vicariously through your photo.

I love the star it reminds me of the one I had as a child. Cool, and I think it's just perfect.
