Mercury

Something has been really wrong over here. Every time I blink, something seems to break. I put together a little photo montage of all the things that have broken in my house in the past couple of weeks.

A bunch of broken stuff

When things all start to fall apart like this, I always remember my former friend and co-worker Barbara W. She was in the production department, writing, filming and editing commercials. But her true love was astrology, and she knew her stuff. For quite some time, she had her own astrology show on one of our cable channels. When ever I'd have a bad run like this, she'd say "Well, of course, Mercury is retrograde!! Don't touch anything until it rights itself again". I'm a Gemini, which means Mercury rules my sign. (Pea is a Virgo, the other sign ruled by Mercury, so it's double trouble for us. Are you listening, Christine??)

Once our internet connection decided it felt like working again, I hopped on the web to search for the dates Mercury is in retrograde this year. I wasn't too surprised by what I found. I know a lot of people think astrology is all a bunch of hooey, but clearly I am not one of them. I can always tell when Mercury is in retrograde. I can also feel my old friend Barbara here with me, visiting from where ever she went on that Thanksgiving evening when she passed to another place.

I know, Barbara, hold on for five more days. All will be right on the 29th. I'm listening!!

You need to do some Feng Shui in there!

Contact Brittany Needles - they'll replace the broken birch.

I hate it when it's one thing after another. But at least you know what's causing it!

So August 19th is a good day for a yarn crawl, and it's better that we didn't decide to go in July.

Astrology surely has its very interesting aspects that can explain a lot of things - if done correctly, that is. My sister studied astrology for a couple of years and certain things she had to tell were simply amazingly true!
I can't believe all that you've broken recently, you've certainly gone through a pretty bad spell - but thumbs up, it can only get better! ;)

Hey - Mercury goes direct on the 28th - hang in there, it will get better. (It's my dad's fault about the Astrology stuff) - but I always know when Mercury is Retrograde because of all the stuff breaking/getting lost/messing up... Usually I call me dad, and ask - "Daddy, is Mercury in Retrograde?" Sure nuff - usually is.

My sun and moon are both in Gemini - and my rising sign is Virgo, so I usually get a triple whammy!

Mercury Retrograde is a good time to do "re" actions - review, repair, rearrange, reduce, reuse, recycle... just don't try to do anything new, and don't sign any important documents, or make any big life changing decisions.

I also recently broke a Brittany, they are so nice about replacing--they'll send you a full set if you email them! I also blew my modem and it wreaked havoc with our phone--I just thought it was a spate of bad karma, but now I see otherwise. ;)

I totally believe in all that hooey! Read Susan Miller's astrology column every month at www.astrologyzone.com, she'll tell you when to watch out for pesky Mercury in retrograde!

It turns out my boyfriend is a Gemini, and guess what? I'm a Virgo! I haven't noticed too many things breaking these days, but I'm in the middle of moving and that's enough chaos for me.

Sorry you have so many broken things. At least you have a pretty headband and market bag! I love the idea of a skinny little headband from leftover sock yarn.
