As promised, I have drawn the names for the sock bags. Five people entered for the blue bag, and the winner is . . .
The green bag was more popular, with nine of you wishing for one. The green bag goes to . . .
Congratulations to you both, and thank you to everyone who took the time to play in my little contest. Sonya and Shelly, please e-mail your addresses to me. I have to admit, I haven't made the bags yet. I can whip them out in a day, but I probably won't be able to work on them until later in the week when the weather cools down. My craft room / sewing room / computer room is also the sun porch, so it gets pretty hot out there with the sun beating through all the windows.
I know, I know, I've been a big complaining wimp about the heat, haven't I? Well, you should probably know, WE HAVE NO AIR-CONDITIONING. So far the ceiling fans have been doing a good job all summer, but for the past few days they haven't really been cutting it. Hopefully Pea can get our big air-conditioner repaired in the next few days (probably just in time for the heat to break!!) so we can be more comfortable. For now, we're just thinking cool thoughts and drinking lots of ice-water. Hope your A/C's are all up and running (and if they are, I may be over for a visit - ha ha ha).

Congratulations Shelly and Sonya! I just signed up for an apron sew-along. I really do need to learn to use my sewing machine... without swearing like sailor. Hope the weather calms down for you.
No AC???? You poor, poor girl! Being a Floridian, I'm thinking life without AC is cruel and inhumane. Mine is ice cold. Come on down. Don't even think about sewing for now. Yipee, I'm a winner and it's gonna be a great week!
Well I am jealous of Shelly and Sonj;o) It is supposed to be 104 today--I am going to be poolside!
Our hous does not have centrail air, so we have all these room airconditioners running (we will need a loan to pay the electirc bill!) and we can't hear each other if we are not standing on top of each other. I sit in front of the air conditioner and knit!
Stay cool!
Woot! I'm so excited. Thank you, Karen!
No air conditioning? Oh, that's bad. We have inadequate air conditioning, so I accomplished a whole lot of nothing this weekend.
Try to stay cool!
It was fixed! It was rigged! >:-( (major pouting) Congrats Shelly & Sonya! Bummer about the lack of A/C. Here's hoping for a freak cold snap. (Arms crossed, brow furrowed - still pouting.)
We have one a/c unit for the bedroom - I'm moving in there for the rest of the summer ;o)
Ifinally gave up and got central air about 4 years ago. Thank the lord!!! Congrats to the winners!
Congrats to the lucky winners!
Stay cool!!!
Amanda :)
We have one ac in our kitchen and even that isn't doing the trick in our house. The thermostat is reading 84 degrees. I heard tomorrow it's supposed to be a little cooler.
I sure feel with you - we don't have air conditioning here as well and are way over 100F these days - reason enough to complain, I'd say! I've started butting a bowl of ice in front of my fan to get the air coming from it even colder, and hey, it works!
I know you've been sewing lots lately too. If you're interested in joining an "Apron Along" then Sherrill over at www.baabonnybelle.blogspot.com is hosting one. She posted a clever little homage to aprons last week and the result was this sew-along. I'm going to give it a try... even though sewing machines hate me.
