Remodeling

I've been unhappy with my banner and button for quite some time. I used the free trial of Adobe Photoshop to build them, and since my trial period has long since run out, I figured there was nothing I could do unless I shelled out some big bucks for new Photoshop software.

It's funny what you'll find if you actually root around in your computer. I have a program called Jasc Paint Shop Pro. It tells me I am on day 141 of my 30 day trail period, and after 60 days the program will not run. I'm not sure what that's all about, but let me assure you the program runs fine!! So I set up my books and yarn, snapped a few pictures, and whipped up this new banner and button!!! I think they look much nicer than the "amateurish" ones I had before.

Yeah, it's going to take me forever to get that yarn all put away, but I think it was worth it . . . if I do say so myself!!!

Oh, and by the way, Katt has a little sock competition going on over at her blog. Go check it out . . . if enough of us play she'll raise the stakes to TWO prizes instead of one!!

The new banner looks great! Clearly the home, or bookshelf, of a knitter.

I'm going to try to grab the button - the self-taught part, especially by trial and error, works for me.

BTW, the short-row heels look great. I'm very tempted, though an epidural, or at least some novocain, will be needed to get me through that part of the process.

great job on your banner! I have been using PSP for years (I actually co-owned a tutorial group)- it's a great program with lots and lots of neat little tweaks! Have fun putting all of your "stash" away ;) and have a great Sunday!

I LOVE your new banner, Karen!!! It's GORGEOUS!! You did such an awesome job on it! I'm going to have to look into my Paint Shop program now. I never realized you could do such fantastic things with it! I know, I know, I've been saying that I want to renovate my blog forever, but your new banner and button have really inspired me to get a move on it. ;-) Your Bestus Buddy socks are beautiful!! Great job on those short row heels, too! (And no epidural! ;-)) I feel so bad- I didn't even realize that you were sick!! I hope you're feeling better and on the mend soon. Take good care of yourself, Karen! :-)

Hi - The embarassing part of the table is how long it took me to figure out that formatting from Microsoft Office products wouldn't work. I had a table in Word, a spreadsheet in Excel, tabs in Word to make it line up... and nothing worked. After an hour, maybe more, I finally remembered that html was required, and that spaces, tabs, etc would all be shown as one space. Then I googled "html table" and found a help site the the tags for table row and for table header, and used those. It took me way to long to figure out why it didn't look right. I learned HTML a while ago, and should have remembered.
