Love at first sight . . .

Today Pea and I took a drive to the CT Humane Society.  We were just going to look at the cats, and I was trying really hard not to get my hopes up.

But someone caught my eye.  As I reached into her cage, she stretched up to meet my hand and started purring like crazy.  Her name is K.C., which were my initials from my maiden name.  Before I knew what was happening, I was signing the papers and we were bringing her home.

It was meant to be.  Here is what she did mere minutes after we got home.

She hadn't even known me for an hour yet.  I couldn't believe she already crawled into my lap.  She's cute and sweet and I really feel like she was meant to be with us.  She's 2 years old and less than 8 pounds, and apparently had a rough start.  But she couln't be sweeter or cuter or more loving.
I hope she's happy about her new forever home.   She's already made our house so much brighter.

Karen, I am so happy for you! K.C. is adorable. I was hoping all day that you'd make a kitty love connection. I think kitties who have had a rough start are particularly sweet and loving. No more rough days for her though!

Congratulations to your newest family member! I had a cat named KC many years ago (it stood for Kitty Cat). She's very lucky to have such a wonderful home with lots of yarn to play with. Charlie is purring.

Yes -- it was meant to be. She is very beautiful and looks so content sitting with you. It may take some time for her to be totally comfortable in her new home, but snuggles and love will help that process along!

Oh she's beautiful and what a great personality! My Gabby is like that, she sat on my chest for two days after we brought her home and she still cries if she's not sure where you are.

She's adorable! Good for you as there are so many animals that need to be rescued. Trust me she will be grateful forever - we rescued our dog and she thanks us almost every day.

That's exactly what my son and DIL did Saturday, too! Except they're allergic to cats, so they went to check on a non-allergenic dog-youngest is allergic to most dogs-and came away with a shi-tzu mix. I need to go meet the little thing-her name is Molly and she's 10 months old.

I love the picture! She is adorable. We have a cat that we adopted almost 10 years ago that was also small (7#.) She has been loving, cuddly and sometimes playful. I'm glad you found yours. :)

Congrats on your new addition! She's adorable. My little guy had a rough start, too - as did my parents' dog. It seems like animals that started out that way are just instantly thankful to have found a loving home.

Great story and many happy year together. My last cat picked me out at the Newington Humane Society 19 yrs ago and it was a friendship that was golden. The front desk people told me at the time she had been there for a long time of which I could not figure out way over the 19 yrs she ruled the house and me.

Your kitty looks just like mine! Her personality sounds like our cat too! My daughter & I went to the Humane Society to drop off some donations & this little kitty caught our attention. We left (didn't want to make an emotional decision) and came back the next morning! We took him home (his name is Koby) & he just stretched out and purred as if to say "I'm home!" He's been a joy every day. I am happy for you! Isn't it amazing the impact these sweet souls have on our lives? Enjoy!
