Location shoot

A few weeks ago, something came over me. I'm not quite sure what, but I bet you've felt it too. That unexplainable blah feeling towards all the lovely projects you have on the needles. It was accompanied by the feeling that I MUST start something new - something that I could finish QUICKLY - something that would use up some of my huge stockpile stash yarn - something I could wear that weekend. I had just the project waiting in my Ravelry queue and just the yarn in my stash. So I cast on, knit it up, and have been wearing it everywhere. The only thing I didn't remember to do was to have Pea get a picture of me modeling it for the blog. I've rectified that from an undisclosed location. (More about this at the end of the post!)

Anthropologie-inspired Capelet
Cast on: 31 July 2007
Completed: 2 August 2007
Yarn: Rowan Cotton Tape, White
Needles: US11 (8mm) Knit Picks Circular

I made a few minor modifications to this pattern. I cast on 45 stitches, and worked it so the right side would be the stockinette side instead of reverse stockinette. I also gave some more length to the body, and knit the sleeves in the round. Which meant no seaming at all. (Cool!!)

And now, on to the location of the shoot. Pea and I were out of town for a long-weekend get-away. Can you guess where we were? Leave me your guess in the comments and you'll earn a chance at a little prize. If your guess is correct, you'll earn two chances! I'm not sure exactly what the prize will be, but it will involve sock yarn. I'll draw the winner sometime after I unpack, tackle the mountain of laundry, get some groceries, answer all my e-mails and catch up on my blog reading. That should give you plenty of time to get your guess in - and I'll announce the winner in my next post.

Very pretty capelet! Projects like that are so fun - where you're using/wearing it before you even have a chance to think about it...

Ack. I have uncovered my inner Valley Girl. Kill me now.

That lighthouse looks familiar, but I'm blanking (ish). Is that the Martha's Vineyard lighthouse?

Your capelet looks great in that beautiful shot of Highland Lighthouse in Truro (I'm pretty sure--I've visited that one!) oh, I love The Cape, especially Wellfleet, haven't been there in awhile though!

Beautiful - and the location is stunning.

Wow! Absolutely wow! Your capelet looks fantastic, and so do you wearing it! It suits you so perfectly fine - and I have to say, it also suits the location where you did the photo shoot! Awwww, I want to be there too right now! But - where in all the world could this have been? I got myself a map of your state right now and closed my eyes and put my finger on a location at the ocean - and it says... Montauk. Hmmm ;)

Hmmm....I am from that neck of the woods too...darned if I know! Hahahah.
I am going to go with Maine. Why? Because I want to. Hey...I must be back to work with the middle school students since I have a little oppositional defiance going on in my post. LOL!!! Speaking of teaching...I do have news there and will have to email you.
Love the little capelet. It is too cute! Wonderful!

Love the capelet. I have saved the pattern and may just have to start that. The beret can wait!!

I only wish I could be where you were in that shot!!

Remember I am a Canadian girl but for some reason when I looked at those pictures I am thinking the Hamptons LOL I am probably way off and read too many books and have the view all wrong in my head when an author refers to the Hamptons.

Hope you enjoyed where ever it was!!!

Were you at Cape May again?
The capelet is wonderful. I am not at a point where I can just go and modify things like that. I'm sure I'll get there some day. Great job!
