So I've acknowledged the lack of blogging that's been going on around here lately. Unfortunately, it also goes hand-in-hand with a startling lack of knitting. I blame summer weather, spring cleaning, and the work involved in my Creating Web Pages class. This week, Creating Web Pages I wraps up and Creating Web Pages II begins. Yes, they overlap, which seems a bit crazy. But I'm really looking forward to the next class - even if it means a tough week ahead.
My plan for this afternoon was to take a break, catch up on my guilty pleasure (Gener@l H0spit@l!!) and just knit. But guess what arrived minutes ago via e-mail?? My Ravelry invite!!!!!!!! We'll see how long I can hold off on clicking that. My guess is that I'll be in Ravelry as soon as I hit the Publish button on this post!!
In the mean time, here is some Stitch Marker Eye Candy for you!!On the left are three beautiful stitch markers hand-made my another self-taught knitter, Alisha. She had a neat contest where she asked us to request then next song to be played on her blog, and I won!! Not only did I get to hear Michael Buble, who I ♥, but she sent me three gorgeous stitch markers!! Keep an eye out on her blog, I think she'll be running more contests soon!
On the right are some wonderful stitch markers I ordered from Entrelac after hearing how much Kristie loved her set. I have to agree 100%, these things are great for lace knitting and such because there are no dangly bits to get trapped in the knitting. And they are pretty in an understated sort of way.
Okay, I guess I'm off to Ravel!!

Pretty, pretty stitch markers! Now go Ravel!
I've missed your blogging Karen!
What is your name at Ravelry? Add me...I'm wannabe there.
Hi! I just saw your profile over at Ravelry. Are you taking the Ed2Go webclasses? I just took those and I'm currently taking the CSS/XHTML one (though I've very behind right now due to the end of the school year). Anyway, I just think it is funny because sort of the same thing happened to me -- I started a knitting blog and then got very interested in web design:) Wishing you good luck with it!
Wow! Congrats, though I have to admit I had never heard of ravelry until your blog, I ran over to see what it was lol. Looks super cool!I wonder how long it'll be in beta. Lovin the stitch markers, so cute!
Having fabulous stitch markers is the best---I love to knit to my markers, and then I admire them as I slip them from one needle to the other!
Oooo Ravelry! I'll be on the lookout for you.
Oh, Ravelry! If your experience is anything like mine, we can expect to hear from you again in approximately three weeks. After every bit of yarn and every WIP has been photographed and posted to Ravelry. Enjoy!
I just got my invite a few days ago and I think I may have let out a tiny shriek. ;) Haven't set up a profile or anything yet because I HAVE to have my computer back before even thinking about doing all that... BTW, when are you free for a mini yarn crawl?
I just can't get my head around Ravelry. How exactly can it help you become organized? If I understood what it was, I would probably sign up for an invite.
Congrats on the stitch markers and on Ravelry. I swear that I have to be the last person on Earth not to be over there! :) But, I'll be there soon I hope.
Beautiful stitch markers! I have fun with Ravelry.
Yay for the Ravelry invite! I'll have to warn you though - time passes so extremely fast while you're having fun there - I spent one whole day on that page a while ago and didn't even recognize it! Ravelry rocks, that's for sure!
And awww, I love these stitch markers, they're ever so cute!
I am soo jealous.....I am stil awaiting my invite....it willcome I know it will....but i KEEP GOING OVER and making sure everyone is still alive........and then I think...did I really enter in my info for an invite...hmmmmm hve fun!!!!
Those little non-dangly stitch markers are soooo pretty. What's your Ravelry profile name? I'll look out for you...
Lovely!
Congrats on your win! Those stitch markers are lovely. This Ravelry thing looks interesting....
Beautiful stitch markers! Have fun in Ravelry and kiss your "free" time goodbye. ;)
Jessica
loving the eye candy...
I'm still waiting for my ravelty invite and must admit… starting to feel a little left out. Your stitch markers are very pretty.
Love the stitch markers! That's such a great idea for the lace markers...I certainly have had that problem with the markers snagging and slipping around.
I have 20 of thos Entrelac stitch markers! I can't believe how great they've been for my lace knitting. I'm so glad you like them.
