August Knitting Goals

Okay, I'll admit it.  It's time for a true confession.  I barely knit a stitch in the whole month of July.  *gasp*  I've come to realize that summer just zaps my knitting mojo.  I admire those knitters who crank out socks and lace in the sticky humid summer months.  But I'm just not one of those knitters.

Luckily, the humidity broke after some heavy thunderstorms on Friday.  The weekend found me itching to wrap my hands around some yarn and sticks.  We won't mention the fact that instead of knitting on any of my WIPs, I cast on something new.  Seriously, at least I was knitting again, so who cares what the project was.  Plus it was a small, quick knit that is a gift - so I think I get a pass on that!!

So, for the third month in a row, I present to you the exact same knitting goals.

  • Finish those Monkey Socks.
  • Finish that Kristina Bag.
  • Finish Sitcom Chic.
I swear, I'm going to get at least one of these goals crossed off by September, even if it means we have to order take-out every night and eat it in our unwashed stinky clothes amidst our sinfully messy house.  Let's just hope it doesn't come to that!

You crack me up. Take out every night sounds like the perfect solution to my knit time issues. Which one will you finish first??????

Stinky clothes? Stinky house?? Don't worry 'bout it --- you'll have nice, new knits!

I know what you mean about knitting in summer, it zaps me too. I'm using that as my excuse for not knitting much recently, even though its winter here!
That bag is gorgeous by the way - have you got much more to go to finish it?

Now there's some discipline! I like the idea of take-out every night, in the name of our craft, of course. :)

LOL!!! You're too funny! I've managed to keep on knitting through our wonderful hot and humid days in VA. I've had to stop knitting on our porch...got a bit too unbearable. I'm only knitting with cotton blended yarns. I can't bear to pick up wool right now. Looking forward to your finished project(s). ;)

Your WIPs look so much more fun than my WIPs. I propose we organize a WIP swap for like items. If someone has a single sock with the yarn and pattern that they've fallen out of love with then he/she could swap for a similar sock from another knitter with the same problem. Although not everyone would appreciate some of the fugly WIPs buried in my knitting wardrobe. Hmmm, I wonder how this could be done in a fair and equitable way to everyone's delight. Anyway, I call dibbs on your Kristina Bag!
