Meltdown . . . .

as in THINGS THAT MAKE ME MELT-DOWN.

Heat indexes of 100+ in June. (Drippy Meltdown)

Two power outages in two days - causing lack of A/C when we need it the most. (even more Drippy Meldown)

Infestation of ants in the pantry. Given how OCD I am about cleaning, I can't imagine what they could possibly be finding to eat. Oh wait, they figured out how to crawl up the shelf and squeeze through the opening of the cereal and cracker boxes. (Emotional Meltdown)

The thought that at this time tomorrow, I'll be on my way to our dance studio's yearly formal ball. Which usually would not make me meltdown - except this year, Pea and I let them talk us into dancing performing. In the show. In front of EVERYBODY. To "Get Around" by The Beach Boys. For over two minutes. But, we will have the two instructors with us, and I finished pulling a costume together that I really love. So I guess I feel a bit better about it. (but still having a Bundle of Nerves Meltdown)

What's making you melt-down these days? Or better yet, what saves you when you feel a melt-down coming???

Argh, no A/C! Eep!

Re the ants- those half gallon canning jars are fab for cereal. I like the plastic lids and I have all sizes and most everything gets transferred into them.

Oh ants... they drive me nuts. None for us so far (knock on wood) :)

And makes me have melt-down these days? Whiny, demanding children. Usually I only have one, but the heat has brought it out in my other, as well.

What do I do? organize my house. Or hide in the bathroom. ;)

Watching the news. I'm going to have to stop doing that. It is just so awful all the time. And going grocery shopping. I don't even think I could bring my children with me as all I do is swear under my breath about the prices! What do I do about? Complain, of course!
Ants are the worst - drive me nuts too! Good luck with your dance! Will we see it on video on your blog perhaps???

And you wanted to skip May!? :) I hope things are looking up soon.

Do we get to see photos of you and Pea in your performance outfits? Pleeeeeeeease.

I sure hope you get a handle on those ants. We purposely have no fruit trees around us to keep the ants away. And when the A/C doesn't work and you need it to, go get a block of ice and set it in a pan. Rest your feet on it occasionally to keep cool.

I second GuiltyPleasures request for a picture!

Meltdowns du jour - Cell Phone drivers & walkers, grocery store brats, forgetting to buy milk which is why I went to the store in the first place...

I know that at this point, you've already had your performance, so I can't wish you luck, but I can't wait to read about how it went! I'm sure you guys were great.

I third (or is it fourth?) the request for pictures! What a cool thing to do.

My meltdowns? Well there was the unmirrored cable thing, but I'm over that. Others? Looking for very important things that I can't find; patrons who don't thing the normal rules apply to them, actually that applies to anyone; driving by my grandparents' old farm today and seeing how much the new owners have changed things.

Tupperware, or those big glass jars with the French canning-jar lids that fasten with a wire bail. Wash the ant trails away so newcomers won't have a path to follow. Put down talcum or borax powder to reveal trails and find out where they come in, and block it. Spray around the foundations and windows on the outside, too.

Meltdowns? when the car repairmen refuse to listen to the symptoms I describe and claim it's "just the car getting old."

I want to see pictures from the performance!!!

We were having the same meltdown problems in our neck of the woods... all the storms - something landed on our ac unit and we've been a drippy mess.

How you are better now....

My current meltdowns are the ants, too, and a certain kitty very unhappy with her siblings who has decided to make messes on the floor. ARGH.

What saves me: a quick prayer, a cup of tea (if it's not too hot out, or the AC is on), and a few rows on the shrug! I am missing my bathtub in the old house terribly for dealing with times like these.

No ac in that hot weather oh your poor thing. That sounds awful. Know the weather is a lot cooler and Hope your dance went well.

Spinning usually helps me during a meltdown or when I feel one coming on.
