WIP Wednesday

Here's what I should be working on:

graysweater

I don't think I've blogged about this sweater yet, but I've been working on it since late January. The stockinette stitch was perfect to calm me down and zone me out through all the tough times of the last few months. I vividly remember knitting it through tears and prayers that Charlie would be okay. And through more tears when he was gone.

But now things seem a little better, and the weather is getting to warm for a wool sweater, and I find myself dreaming of other projects. So I started this:

SealRockSock

I found that if I knit on my blunt Clover Bamboo US3 needles, my fingers can handle it. So I started a pair of plain socks with my Socks That Rock Seal Rock. It's the same yarn I used for my pump cozy, so I'll be quite co-ordinated when I get them finished!!

Isn't there an Elizabeth Zimmerman quote that goes something like, "Knit on through all adversity"? I always try and think about that one when things are kind of rough.

I'm loving that colorway!

Oh, and I've always said that knitting is waaaayyyy cheaper than therapy, even if one does enhance the stash on a fairly regular basis.

And I hope things are going well with the pump, btw.

Oh, I love that quote kt mentions above. It is “Knit On, with confidence and hope, through all crises.”

That sweater is beautiful in its simplicity.

I love that sweater but so understand how that sock yarn sucked you in!

I began kniting 3 years ago and I believe that kniting found me at a time in my life when I needed something to see me through those tough days. As corny as that sounds....it honestly has helped me find a balance.

Love the color on the sock yarn ;)

And knitting is my therapy too!
I get a bit grumpy if I don't knit during the day...

Great sweater! Are you using a pattern, or did you make something up? And those socks really do rock!

Oh I am so glad you can remember Charlie with that sweater. You will be So cool with your coordinated socks and pump cover.

GREAT weekend for you!

Mine may involve an obligatory distant relative of fireman's visit. Knit time in the car!
