Charlie sleeps with the fishes . .

Don't worry, it's not a Sicilian mob message against my little cat. He's just gone to the mattresses (literally, not figuratively) with a little project I've kept hidden from the family my WIP list.

The little fishes you see are the beginning of a very long term project, a Tessellating Fish Blanket. Because everyone needs a multi-colored blanket of fish, right?

Seriously, I expect this blanket to take me forever to complete. I'm going to knit it with all my spare scraps of worsted weight yarn (because I can't throw anything away).

And how did I get Charlie to put up with me arranging knitted fish on him while he slept? Why, I made him an offer he couldn't refuse, of course. Hey, at least I didn't pose him with a knitted horses head!!

One of these days I'll get up the courage to try one of those fish blankets. I always love the way they look!

The fish blankie will be so cute and if you ever get too tired of knitting it, you could make it Charlie sized!

Yes, I agree, everyone needs a fishy blanket. You should post your mailing address so we can stalk you properly

eh, huh, I mean so we can send you all of our scrap worsted yarn so your blanket has more colors. I would pay $2 in shipping so that the scraps of all my ww stops cluttering about. That is what de-stashing is all about?

Thanks for the comment on my blog, I am not upset about SAM4, just momentarily frustrated. I love SAM KALs, they keep me motivated to get FO instead of zzz's.

Charlie doesn't know how lucky he is!

The fish blanket is cute! What a great way to use up you left over yarns.

That's a wonderful way to use up scraps. I have always planned to do something like that & keep larger scraps for a while, and then think, "I'll never get around to that," and toss/give them away. Way to go getting started!

Oh he is just getting cuter by the minute, that one!

What a great blanket, I've never seen that before. Maybe I'll have to keep that in mind for using up my bag-o-scraps. Charlie looks really upset... ha. You should submit the picture to Stuff on My Cat (link on my sidebar).

That will be a very cool blanket when you get it finished - can't wait to see it!

That is going to be such a cute blanket! And a perfect way to used up leftovers. One of the ladies in my knitting group made a mitered square blanket out of leftover sock yarn. Surprisingly it did not take her a lifetime to knit!

I love that blanket and want to make it someday! Your red fish are looking great.

That is brilliant way to use up leftover yarn. I'm always on the hunt for something to do with mine, although I don't have much in the worsted dept .. yet. Mine is mainly sock yarn (go figure)

Is the blanket for you?

Aww...Charlie...looks so sweet sleeping with the fishes. ;o)
I hope that you are able to use up lots of scraps with this project (which will help you with the purge). I bet it will not take you too long! And, like one of the ladies suggested if you get tired of it you can make it Charlie sized.

Oh, you are so different than I . You are starting something that will take you forever to complete. Maybe I should do this. Maybe it would be good for me. I'm thinking 2x2 rib scarf with fingering or lace weight . Mason Dixon just showed one. That WOULD take me forever to knit.....

You are too hilarious! First I find out we're GWTW fans, and now I see that we're also Godfather fans! Hee! I think I read that book twice and of course love all the movies (even the third one).

I've been wanting to make that blanket (because I also can't throw any scraps away), but I fear the weaving in of ends. This project will just have to wait.
