Bah Humbug

Two weeks until Christmas, and here's where things are at:

* Christmas cards written -> 0
* trees put up -> 0
* cookies baked -> 0
* cards addressed -> 0
* presents wrapped -> 0
* halls decked -> 0

It's very unChristmas-like around here.

It really isn't like me to be so Scrooge-y. I'm not sure what my problem is this year. (Okay, I have an idea - but it's best not to get into it.) With two weeks to go, I'd better get myself in gear and start spreading cheer instead of doom and gloom.

At least the Christmas knitting is coming along. I started a hat, but thought it was coming out too small.

Since I liked it, I decided to finish it up anyway, knowing there would always be a little head around to gift it to. But, wonder of wonders, it turned out to be the right size. It's blocking now, and I'll share all the details next time.

The only things I've done on your list are trim the tree (bah humbug...we have a FAKE one for the first time evah..I loathe Phoenix!) and decked the halls (only semi). I'm not sending cards. I couldn't get my act together to take a nice picture of Syd or us as a family so I figured...meh, Christmas will come next year too. I still haven't wrapped or shipped my out of state stuff either.

I'm notoriously late with all holiday doings. I like to think of it as "extending the magic of the holidays," instead of "not having my act together."

Hey that hat looks familiar! Is that my Ohio State Superfan Hat? I've heard people were having issues with it being too small but it's supposed to be a snug beanie like hat so I didn't change the pattern... I'm so glad that yours came out ok!!!

Don't worry there still is plenty of time to spread the Christmas cheer!

I'm glad the hat worked out for you. See you've already had a little Christmas miracle.

Somewhere there's a happy medium between being completely scroogey and so stressed out with preparations that you can't enjoy the holidays.

I'm with you in feeling scroogey, and hope to get a little into the holiday spirit before it's too late.

The title of your post made me laugh...it's so unlike you! Don't worry, the holiday spirit will catch up with you before long. Just try to stay away from the mall...all that piped-in Christmas music makes feel totally manipulated, and that makes me cranky.

I haven't gotten the Christmas stuff rolling yet either. I'm planning to go to a local ceramics place to make a lighted Christmas tree, but I just can't seem to get it in gear. I better get out the Ella Fitzgerald Christmas CD!

Im the ghost of Christmas future. It will come whether you feel it this season or not. Don't pressure your sweet little heart.

Oh gosh, I so hear you! Honestly, this year's pre-Christmas time seems to be the worst and most hectic since years, not just for me, but for a lot of people that I know personally as well as in the blog-world - wonder why that is? I sure have my fingers crossed for you that you'll get everything done in time, with as little stress as possible!

I'm still stuck in November. I've even recently discovered that I've still been writing the date as 11-whatever! Hope you find some cheer soon. The hat sure is cute!

Sorry to hear you are feeling like doom and gloom...
I hope that you are feeling better soon. See, your hat came out all right, so it can't be all that bad.
I hear on the news that you are in for some serious snow this weekend.

My msn at the moment has "bah humbug just doesnt cover it" I am beyond scrooge this year..I think its all the annoying toys. I have only ONE left and almost half way through that..

I have had that with beanies...knitting them thinking they wont be big enough but they end up being just right.

I found getting started was tough but once I began doing stuff it was better.

I have let some things go too. Not all the kids are getitng jammie bottoms and some people won't get mitts liked I had hoped.

One year I will get it all done early!! So I can sit and knit non Christmas gifts all of December!!!
