What's that in the wine rack??
Why, it looks like a lovely Merlot.
Yes, this is the Merlot that made me fall off the wagon after my crazy weekend of yarn excess. What you see in the wine rack is 880 yards of Peruvian laceweight wool, hand-dyed by the ever talented Christine. I'd had my eye on it since she opened Fingerpaints, and planned to order it once I had finished knitting my Kiri shawl. Well, Kiri didn't work out so well, but I'm not letting that discourage me. I'm sure I can conquer lace knitting, and decided I'd better snap the beauty up before someone else did!!
What you see on the right are two skeins of sock yarn, also dyed by Christine. I wanted to order a skein as a prize, but she kindly donated it to my cause. (Details on this soon!!) And the other skein . . . well, I feared Chester dug it out of his crate and snuck it into my envelope. But really, his sweet mom sent it along for me. I think it may be time to cast on a new pair of socks!! Don't forget to grab a skein for yourself. Trust me, you won't be sorry!!
As for me, it's time to reform. Not another drop of fiber . . . . well, we'll see!!

wow ... the color of that laceweight is gorgeous. lucky you!
::going over to check out christine's stuff::
well, gosh! i didn't realize it was *that* christine! :)
Maybe we should start a countdown - number of days until Rhinebeck. I'm not sure I want to stop buying yarn during that period, just cut back.
I love the "merlot" in the wine rack. The color is perfect.
Love that "Merlot" yarn! I don't think I can fault you for buying more yarn. I have the same addiction!
Wow! That color is just astonishing. Gorgeous!
I agree, that Christine is a talented lady! The Merlot looks so gorgeous and rich; whatever it becomes it going to be beautiful.
Gorgeous yarn! - and I'm thinking reform is highly overrated.
Myself, I'm looking for a loophole to get me out of UFO August...
Beautiful colors!! :o)
ahahaha! you yarn ho. will power? sure, you've got LOTS of will power. as in, "i WILL buy this yarn and WILL feel some remorse later...but at least i have the yarn :)"
sock yarn's bags are packed & she's ready to go. she's standing here outside my door. she just can't wait to hop a plane and fly.
(she's so excited, i can hear her singing to herself in her package. she'll be in the mail tomorrow, just because i don't have time to go to the post office today.)
Everyone falls off the wagon sometimes and what a great way to fall! Beautiful yarns!
Wow! All of that yarn is so lovely (I had to check out your links). :)
I know that you will make some lovely lace with your Merlot.
Oh gosh, the goodies! This Peruvian wool does indeed look like a great Merlot - it might not taste as good, but if I imagine how it must feel to the skin, then I'm drooling all over here! I'm so curious to see it knitted up!
