Spurred on by the voices in my head umm, the evil talking yarn - well, that's really the same thing, isn't it?? the desire to some day be able to wear this beautiful pair of socks, I have finally made real progress on my second Embossed Leaf (aka The Project that Never Ends). I've actually made it to the foot!!!
You know, when I posted that evil talking yarn yesterday, I thought you guys would be on my side. That you would help me stay strong and avoid it's temptation. HOW WRONG I WAS!!! Most of you left comment after comment, telling me to go ahead and wind it up. You guys. Well, that's okay - I'm thrilled for each and every comment I get. Even if you are bad influences. I love you all!!
AND luckily Dave was paying attention and has a far better memory than I do. I promised him last month that the next sock yarn I knit will be (some of) the Koigu in my stash - the Koigu I pet and admire but don't feel worthy to knit!! So, to keep my Koigu vow and also fend off the Hill Country temptations, I did this.
See that Hill Country in the background looking jealous??) So yes, I wound up two birthday skeins of Koigu. And I might have cast on. And maybe knit the toe. I suppose I could be going to knit a bit more with it now.
Yup, I was afraid this would happen.

Be careful not to get Hill County too angry - he's from Texas, you know! Loving the green sock! Very cool color.
Yarn can never be trusted - it's always too eager to lure you away and have it's way with you.... of course, you'll enjoy every minute of it...
Yippeee! You are worthy ... never forget.
You know knitters are enablers! Or you do now anyway. ;o) The birthday Koigu looks yummy.
Koigu...gotta knit it!
You must be very careful when the yarn starts talking to you.
Oh I love the koigu. How can you resist it? TOmorrow is Stitches Midwest for us and Im like a kid on Christmas Even
Oh, but now the end is in sight with your sock, not much more to go - and it's going to look so lovely!
Your embossed leaves look great! The Kogiu yarn is really pretty can't wait to see what socks you make with it.
I think Dave was thinking that you'd wind BOTH yarns, and have 3 socks going at once--consider that!
Yummy, yummy!!
Congrats on the Embossed Leaves progress!
You're absolutely worthy of the Koigu! Have fun with it :o)
POlicy #1 - cast on everything in sight - always a good policy. POlicy #2, you can never have too many works in progress. A handy policy when you consider policy #1. Knit like blazes and hope that one day something will get finished, and one day, something will. Be finished, that is.
laws to live by.
Whoa--the embossed leaves are gorgeous, the perfect shade o' green! I'm also one for fondly (but not knitting) the koigu, it's such a fetish object!
The sock is working up beautifully Karen, and enjoying a guilty little pleasure is ok once in a while don't you think? hmmmmmmmm? ;)
Gosh your embossed leaves socks are coming out so great! And you are so close to being done!
Amanda
Your socks look so wonderful! And hurray for starting another project before finishing the one on the needles! I find this is always the best. :) The more the merrier!
