So, I've got this sock in progress.
I started it a long, long time ago. In July, actually. I remember yearning to knit with self-pattering yarn. Loving the simple stockinette stitch. Anticipating how good the colors will look with a pair of jeans.
But some where along the way, I seem to have lost the love for this sock. I made it to the first heel turn, but I'm having a hard time getting excited about continuing. I'm not sure what I want to do. So I'm going to leave it up to you.
Please vote in the poll below. If you'd like, you can also explain why you voted the way you did in the comments.
On Thursday, I'll let you know how the votes stacked up, and reveal what you've advised me to do. And this time, I promise I'll follow whatever choice the majority votes for. The fate of my sock is in your hands.

Don't frog the hard work, just set it aside until you have some travel, etc. that requires mind-numbingly easy knitting. Besides, there isn't much else to be done with self-patterning sock yarn that comes out looking right.
I voted to frog it. If you were anywhere on sock 2 I'd have said to press on. Personally, I know that if it was me it would never get finished if I lost the will to knit this early in the pair. (But I think it looks fab and it would definitely be a great jeans sock.)
I say frog it and move on. I finished a sock a few months ago with some gorgeous Vesper yarn. Something about it looked funny, but I continued. I don't really know what I did wrong concerning the pattern, but I did something wrong. I finished the sock, but it looks terrible and I never made a second one. I really need to frog the sock all together. I doubt you'll ever cast on or even finish the second one.
I say frog it and move it. It will feel really good knowing that you don't have to worry about it anymore
Frog it. There are too many fun things to knit -- no time to waste on the not-so-fun.
Do not frog! Just leave it available and when you need something easy to do knit it. I have a pair just knit and yes they are taking a long time but when I need something to knit I turn to them.
Let it hibernate. It might float your boat later. If not, you can always frog later.
I say hibernate. If it was your 2nd sock with the heel done, I'd say bite the bullet, but since it's your first sock and there isn't much love, I'd have it marinate for a bit. W/o the foot done, you could always finish it off for someone else. OR you could just give it away. That could be a contest and pass it on to somebody who WOULD finish it. I'd enter that one!
It sounds as if you really don't want to work on it anymore. If it doesn't fit then I would just frog it. If it's just boring to work on, then I'd maybe keep it for travel knitting. I'm not sure what else you could do with the yarn, and if you have plans to wear it with jeans, maybe a couple of really good movies could get you through sock #2?
I voted for hibernate. You can always chose a "hibernate until" date and, by then, if you're not feelin' the love, frog it.
I'd frog it. It has been hibernating long enough. Besides, the yarn is beautiful and you can make something else with it!
I think Eryka is right! To me personally, the whole enjoyment one gets from knitting is knitting something you are excited about. With such beautiful yarn you can create a piece that really makes you happy.
Hi sweetie!, with all of the work you have already put into it, I think I would put it aside, yet again, move on to something that is truly exciting to you and, if the next time you look at it and still have no desire to knit it, then frog the thing! Knitting is, in my opinion, a relaxing, calming, happy activity and I don't see a need to knit something that you won't enjoy working on.
:)
OH they will look amazing with a pair of jeans.
Hibernate. I go through periods where I want mindless knits and then I don't. I bet the opportuniy will come for it to be the perfect knit again .
KC looks right at home! She is!
I can't believe I missed your poll. I love polls!
