Delusional Deadline Knitting

I may be delusional, but for some reason I have myself convinced I have plenty of time to do some gift knitting. Of course, this means that once the Daisy socks are done, there will be no more knitting for myself going on until 2007. Yikes!!

(Oh, and did I mention I also decided I'd like to make my own Christmas cards and gift packaging? At least the cards are almost done.)

First up, a reverse-bloom flower washcloth and a baby sweater that need to be done for this weekend and next weekend respectively.

Then, Fetching, socks, Fetching, slippers, and . . . oh, Fetching.

With five weeks to go, I'm thinking I should be able to pull this all off. And maybe even slip in a couple of felted purses for my cousin's daughters? Yup, delusional. At least I've got all my materials together.

Wow! Go Karen! I am sure that you will get it all finished in time! And, maybe sneak in a little something for yourself. :)
I love how those socks are turning out!

go, karen, go!
at least you have a plan...
i'm meandering between "i'll just knit some socks that won't fit me and gift it to someone," "i'll just knit what i want and give it away," and "how about i just boycott the commercial christmas thing and pass out hugs?"
i know, i'm cheap because i spent the entire year buying yarn for myself. maybe i could give yarn as presents with a card offering knitting lessons...? hmmm...

Yes, go with the Fetchings for Christmas presents they are super fast and seem impressive, even though you know that they weren't as labor intensive as they look!!

Please show us your Xmas cards? I'd love to see them, as i am intending to do all ours as well this year. Also, aren't you forgetting one little project?...

Nothing like a little delusion to kick off the holiday season! My mom announced a WEEK ago that we'll be having Christmas at Thanksgiving since my brother will be here from Colorado. Uh, so I have 10 days for Christmas shopping instead of the month I thought I had? Fabulous. Can you say gift certificates?

You made your own Christmas Cards?! What, have you been hanging out in Westport with Martha?! I saw her on tv, make a gingerbread house, with stained glass windows AND little lights to make the candy stained glass shine!!! Now I certainly hope that's on your list of to-do's between fetchings!!

This is coming from the girl who thinks she's going to knit 50 pairs of socks between now and Christmas! xoxoxo

heh... just remember to try and stay sane, okay? DH all but forbade me from repeating last year's stressful 14 major projects (accessories? pshah - that's only for the reasonable!)

Wow...That is an ambitious list. I have way too many projects on my Gift list as well. Good luck.

Shall I sign you up for that carpal tunnel surgery I expect we'll all need after this Christmas?

I love the daisy socks! (Have I said that already?)

He-he, I've got the same problem. So much less time than I had planned for - but always the optimist!
