Ice Cream Man

Do you remember the Koigu socks I started some time ago? Probably not, because I really haven't been blogging about them. Why is that? I have no idea!!! Could it be because the yarn didn't live up to all the hype? Certainly not!!! Let me tell you, this yarn lives up to EVERY bit of hype you can imagine. OH. MY. GOSH. I must have more Koigu.

So, you want to see my socks? Actually it's a sock and a quarter . . . and here they are!!

Oh so very pretty!!! Pea picked the yarn out for my birthday. The colors make me think of sherbet. Actually, I think it looks like a sherbet factory threw up. I mean that in a good way though!! As I knit them, I can't stop singing Ice Cream Man. Does anyone besides me know this song? I remember being out with a bunch of friends once and talking about it, and they all thought I was making it up. And I'm not even a big Van Halen or David Lee Roth fan. But for some reason, this song seems to follow me around. Therefore, I hereby name my lovely Koigu socks the "Ice Cream Man Socks" and they are the latest addition to my Classic Rock Socks collection!!

I'm such a dork!!

Your sock and toe-warmer DO look very sherbety! Can't say I remember the song, though. I remember "The Candy Man" by Sammy Davis, Jr.

Koigu really is all that and a bag of chips, isn't it!? Very pretty color. I, too, don't know this song but I can see why it's stuck in your head.

look at that stash! i wonder if it's a fire hazard keeping it so near the outlet...? i hear, though, that wool only burns as long as there is a source of fire near it.
sorry! don't mean to freak you out. but i read about those scented plug-in thingies starting fires and i freak out when there's ANYTHING near an outlet.
anyway. KoiGu Socks. yummy. :) you must have more KoIGu. me too. :)
and i see you have knit picks needles. good choice, yes? i like them.

Did you change your banner? Or am I just now noticing?? Love the Koigu. I haven't seen that colorway before - very nice. I like that you are making the socks sort of long too.

Good stuff, Karen, good stuff! The colors are just lovely. And the nice simple pattern really shows off the yarn. Must. Buy. Koigu.

I have to say (don't kill me now!) that I might like the stash more in that picture than the socks! :0

But where are the chocolate chips? They look like sherbert to me. My ice cream socks would have to be a waffle color from the toes, then a chubby hubby colorway. YOURS are sweet and wonderful like you!
